Our Junior Bowlers section is
fully involved throughout the indoor season from October to late April
every Saturday morning offering two coaching sessions: 9.45 - 11am for
Improvers and 11.15 - 12.30pm for Beginners. With our team of BDA &
EBDS Coaches, Co-ordinators and assistants, all with DBS clearance, we
offer a full programme of
v coaching and training
v participation in Junior & Senior club
v Kent Junior Invicta League matches (home
v EIBA National Youth Awards Scheme (Bronze-Silver-Gold)
v County Skills events
v English Bowls Youth Development
v friendlies and themed 'fun days'
v and all being an important part of the
development of our young bowlers.
Starting from 8 years old up to
18, youngsters wishing to come and try bowls during a session may do so on
any of our Saturday morning beginner sessions at 11am ready for 11.15am
start. Sadly, due to time and space restrictions, we can only take a
maximum of 25 Junior members at any one time and, therefore, we hold a
waiting list if an immediate start is not possible for new applicants.
To get the new season off to
a flying start our Juniors were successful in attracting ₤1300 in donated support from Kent Trust
for Youth Sport, Kent Sport and Aylesford based Gallagher Group for their
new Match Kit which they chose from numerous designs which they had
submitted. With the section now supporting 2 teams in the Kent U18
Invicta League they have both made excellent progress in the first
half of the season whilst looking extremely smart and up to date with their
new club strip on the green.
